Looking ahead

Yesterday was another ultrasound, scheduled two weeks from the previous imaging.
At 33 weeks and 5 days, our little one had an estimated weight of  6.5 pounds and within the 97th percentile of growth.  According to the fetal diagnostics physician, everything is looking great, with one exception, the kidneys.  The kidneys continue to grow due to the active growth of the cysts taking over the normal kidney tissue.  This has caused the abdomen to become enlarged, which is measuring at 36 weeks gestation, two weeks ahead of everything else.  At the appointment yesterday, it was explained that one or both kidneys would have to come out soon after birth in order to successfully start dialysis; we'll know more from the nephrology team at a later date. Moreover, an emotional reality was given to us yesterday, a date to schedule the cesarean section early December.  With that being said, we can now see the tidal wave of emotional events ahead of us.  We continue to hope and pray for guidance and strength to prepare us for the day ahead.
